Building Great Futures
Project Phases
This transformative project unfolded in three dynamic phases, beginning in March 2025 and culminating in July 2025:
Phase 1 – The Teardown (March 2025):
Teen members from Arizona traveled to Durango, Colorado, where they collaborated with their peers from New Mexico, renowned custom builder Danny Wilson of Motorwitch Industries, and Master Technician Carter Crafton of Durango Harley-Davidson. Together, they disassembled a 2022 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail—generously donated by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company® — laying the foundation for an unforgettable hands-on experience in motorcycle mechanics and customization.
Phase 2 – The Build Begins (Spring 2025):
The disassembled components were transported to Motorwitch Industries in Phoenix, Arizona. There, Danny Wilson worked with industry partners and vendors to source specialized parts, custom paint, and powder coating. During this phase, Club members from both states participated in virtual Zoom sessions, gaining insight into the customization process and engaging in real-time discussions with professionals across the industry.
Phase 3 – The Rebuild & Reveal (Summer 2025):
Teen members from New Mexico traveled to Phoenix to reunite with their Arizona counterparts at Motorwitch Industries. Under the expert guidance of Danny Wilson and Carter Crafton, they reassembled the motorcycle, completed startup procedures, and conducted dyno tuning—bringing their one-of-a-kind, high-performance Harley-Davidson to life.
This custom-designed Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail was entered into a nationwide online sweepstakes, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Juan County and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor.
Entries were accepted through December 2, 2025, and the winner was announced on December 6, 2025.
Proceeds from the sweepstakes directly supported workforce readiness programs, helping youth develop essential skills needed for success in their future careers.
